(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A suspect is in custody after shots were fired at police officers at a Pennsylvania residence Monday night.

Officers were called to a home at around 9:36 p.m. Eastern on Fairmont Street in McDonald for a welfare check on a man who was intoxicated and in distress.

When they arrived on scene, the man began yelling at them before retreating into a house.

Soon after, he returned with a gun and began firing multiple shots at officers.

At some point, the man barricaded inside the home. He eventually exited and surrendered peacefully several hours later.

According to investigators, no one was injured but multiple police and civilian vehicles were hit.
