Storm chances leaving, temperatures slowly returning to normal
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A few spotty showers remain possible Wednesday, but most of the region will stay dry with plenty of clouds filtering in tonight into Thursday.
The added cloud cover comes from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Juliette, bringing the chance for light rain across Imperial County and western Yuma County. Any rainfall should be light, with no major impacts expected.
Highs will hover in the upper 90s to near 100 today and Thursday slightly below normal for late August. But the break won't last long.
Drier air returns Friday, and with it, temperatures will climb into the weekend. Highs are forecast to reach 104–108 degrees by Saturday and Sunday, pushing much of the area into a Moderate Heat Risk.
Looking ahead, some monsoon moisture may sneak back into the region early next week, which could bring back a few storm chances by Tuesday or Wednesday.
