Menendez brothers’ attorney to file an appeal challenging their parole denials

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The attorney for the Menendez brothers is filing an appeal in the California Superior Court, challenging their parole denials.

Mark Geragos say his clients were not given fair shots in their hearings last week.

California's parole board concluded Lyle and Eric Menendez posed an unreasonable risk and should not be freed.

The brothers shot and killed their parents in the family's Beverly Hills mansion 36 years ago, but only recently became eligible for parole after years of legal challenges.

Despite both brothers being denied, they are still eligible to pursue parole again in three years.
