Three dead, nine injured in nightclub shooting in New York

UPDATE (11:02 AM): New York City Police officials now confirm at least 12 people shot in an overnight shooting at a Brooklyn nightclub.

"Currently, we have identified 12 victims ranging in age from 19 to 61, nine males and three females," said Jessica Tisch, NYC Police Commissioner.

Commissioner Tisch said two men, a 27-year-old and a 35-year-old, died at the hospital while a 19-year-old man died at the scene.

"The nine remaining victims are at local area hospitals with what is being described right now as non life threatening injuries," Tisch added.

Officials say there were multiple shooters involved and the shooting may have been gang related. However, no one is in custody at this time.

"The gun violence of this magnitude, it really scars a community and a city, but we will continue to fight to do everything that's possible to continue to take illegal guns off our street," said Mayor Eric Adams. "Every single victim of violence, particularly gun violence, is one too many, and last night's mass shooting reminds us all the work that we must continue to do."

NEW YORK CITY (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A mass shooting overnight at a club in Brooklyn left three people dead and another eight wounded, police officials said early Sunday morning.

Shots rang out just before 3:30 a.m. Eastern following at dispute inside of Taste of the City Lounge in the Crown Heights neighborhood.

Officers arrived at the scene and found numerous gunshot victims, according to officials.

There were a total of 11 victims. Three were pronounced dead and the others were take to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Currently, we have identified 11 victims ranging in age from 27 to 61. Eight males and three females. Three of the victims have already been pronounced: One male, age 27; one male, age 35 and one male of an unknown age," said Jessica Tisch, NYC Police Commissioner.

Officials say there were multiple shooters involved, but no one is in custody at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
