Gusty winds and blowing dust possible through Friday
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - While there's a slight chance for showers or thunderstorms through Friday, most areas are expected to stay dry.
The bigger concerns will be gusty winds, pockets of blowing dust, and dangerous lightning with any storms that manage to form.
Winds could quickly pick up near outflow boundaries, reducing visibility on highways and creating hazardous travel conditions in rural areas.
By the weekend, drier air will move in, dropping storm chances to near zero. Temperatures will run close to seasonal averages, with afternoon highs around 102–105° and cooler mornings in the 70s.
Early next week, high pressure will build back into the region, sending temperatures toward 110° by midweek under hot, dry skies.
