Latest on the steel plant explosion in Pennsylvania
CLAIRTON, Pa. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The explosion at a U.S. steel plant near Pittsburgh has claimed a second life.
Allegheny County officials say a person who had been missing in the blast is now confirmed dead.
At least ten people were taken to the hospital with injuries, and in an update Monday night, officials said five of the injured are in critical but stable condition, and five have been treated and released.
Multiple individuals were treated at the scene, but there is not an exact number, given the scope of the incident.
The U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works plant is the largest coke manufacturing facility in the country and employs nearly 1,300 workers.
The origin and cause of the explosion are under investigation.
