ICE to hire people over the age of 40

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is now hiring people over the age of 40.

Homeland Security says it needs thousands more deportation agents, so it is removing previous age restrictions, and opening up its doors to applicants of all ages, including seniors.

The agency's recruitment website features "Uncle Sam" with a tagline that says, "America has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need you to get them out."

Officials say 80,000 people have already signed up, and Congress recently gave the agency nearly $30 billion to expand.

The move comes as immigration enforcement ramps up nationwide.
