Armed carjackers stole three vehicles, including a semi-truck, in California

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A dramatic high-speed chase involving armed carjackers and several vehicles took place in California Sunday night.

It all stated with a carjacking at gunpoint north of Los Angeles in Lancaster. Two people took off from the scene in a stolen truck and led officers on a pursuit toward Santa Clarita.

At one point, the assailants traveled on the wrong side of the 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, stopping a semi-truck and forcing the driver out of the vehicle.

The chase continued toward Downtown L.A. with the suspects later exiting the big rig and stealing a pickup truck.

Police eventually found the suspects again and chased them to Lincoln Heights, where the assailants managed to discretely ditch the truck and took off in a fourth vehicle, a black sedan.

As of Monday, no arrests have been made.
