Extreme Heat Warning pushes through weekend
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County and Imperial Valley are in the midst of another Extreme Heat Warning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Although the greater Yuma area and the Valley should be past the highest temperatures of this stretch of weather, the heat is estimated to reach into the 108-113 degrees Fahrenheit range through the beginning of the week, with lows remaining above average, as well.
According to NWS, the Desert Southwest will endure widespread moderate heat risk with localized major heat risk through Tuesday.
For those with any health risks, taking precaution in this extreme heat warning is vital. Stay in air conditioning whenever possible and stay hydrated.
Relief is estimated to be on the way later in the work week with temperatures expected to drop below 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
