UPDATE (1:05 PM): According to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), firefighters have stopped "forward progress" on the fire.

BLM says Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, Imperial County Fire Department and local law enforcement responded to the fire.

UPDATE (8:30 AM): According to WatchDuty.org, the fire is now known as the Oxbow 2 Fire.

(KYMA, KECY) - A bridge that connects from Cibola, Arizona to Highway 78 in Palo Verde, California was caught on fire Friday evening and collapsed.

A resident in the area captured the moment the Oxbow Bridge collapsed. The wooden bridge was completely engulfed in flames.

We spoke to the viewer who sent us these photos and video, sharing with us that this is a bridge that locals use to commute to and from Yuma.

The Watch Duty site says the fire is still active and has burned about five acres so far.

We reached out to Imperial County Fire Department for more information on the fire, but are waiting to hear back.
