San Francisco mayor signs ordinance restricting RV parking
SAN FRANCISCO (CNN, KYMA/KECY) - San Francisco is now restricting RV parking in the city as Mayor Daniel Lurie signed the new ordinance Tuesday.
It limits RV parking to two hours.
People who live in their vehicles will be offered housing or the option for a vehicle buyback program.
City leaders say the goal is to help them move indoors, but critics argue this is forcing people to give up their home and could cause an influx of displaced RV residents.
The ordinance takes effect in 30 days, but enforcement won't begin right away.
