Construction worker in Arizona dies after being trapped six-feet underground

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Rescue crews recovered the body of a construction worker in Goodyear Monday.

Police say the worker was stuck in a hole, which was about six-feet deep, when the trench suddenly collapsed.

Several construction workers tried to rescue the fellow employee, but police say as rescuers tried to dig out dirt, more dirt collapsed in, forcing crews to pivot to a recovery effort.

The man has not yet been identified.
