Walmart stabbing suspect appears in court
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The suspect who went on a stabbing rampage at a Traverse City, Michigan Walmart over the weekend faced a judge for the first time Monday.
42-year-old Bradford Gille appeared virtually for his arraignment from Grand Traverse County Jail. He is charged with eleven counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of terrorism.
This comes after authorities say he allegedly stabbed and injured ten Walmart shoppers and one store employee in a random attack on Saturday using a folding knife.
During the hearing, a defense attorney assigned to Gille entered pleas of not guilty to each count and requested the assignment of counsel for him.
The judge placed Gille under a $100,000 bond.
A motive in the attack remains unknown.
Authorities say one of the injured victims is still in serious condition, but all eleven are expected to survive.
