Chargers make Rashawn Slater highest paid OL in NFL history
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Offensive tackle Rashawn Slater put pen to paper on a four-year contract extension worth $114M with $92M guaranteed. The deal makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history.
Slater was the 13th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has earned every penny of the new deal.
As a rookie, the Northwestern product was named a Pro Bowler and earned a spot on the NFL All-Pro Second Team.
After suffering a ruptured bicep tendon early in the 2022 season. Slater bounced back, starting 32 games the past two seasons and earning another Pro Bowl nod.
He will presumably anchor the right tackle position with second-year tackle Joe Alt holding down the left side of the offensive line.
