High heat for back-to-school week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - After a week of promising decline in heat, the temperatures will pick back up again ahead of the first day of school on Tuesday.

Sunday night will stay above the 100 degrees Fahrenheit threshold until around 9 p.m. ahead of temperatures as high as 111 degrees Fahrenheit across Yuma County and the Imperial Valley Monday afternoon.

The Valley will experience higher wind gusts throughout Monday, getting up to 15-20 mph. For Yuma County, wind will barely reach double-digits.
