Police officer in California nearly struck during traffic stop

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A police officer was nearly struck by a passing motorist while conducting a traffic stop in California.

Footage released by the San Bernardino Police Department shows the first car being pulled over, before an unrelated motorist collides with the patrol car, narrowly missing one officer.

The vehicle did not stop at the scene, but was chased down. The video shows the suspect eventually pulled over and arrested.

The police department said that the officers found a loaded handgun in the vehicle and that the suspect was arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence.
