Suspect in California arrested following a snail-paced car chase
ECHO PARK, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The suspect who allegedly stole a truck and sent L.A. officers and California Highway Patrol on a snail-paced car chase, has been arrested.
The chase started in West L.A. just after 2:00 p.m. Pacific Saturday.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department tried to stop the utility truck, and at some point, a spike strip was successfully deployed.
Three popped tires didn't stop the driver from continuing at a top speed of nine miles-per-hour.
The driver dodged bicyclists and could be seen gesturing out of the truck window.
The chase came to an end in Echo Park after an LAPD officer executed a pit maneuver which disabled the truck.
After that, the driver exited the vehicle and was arrested.
