News 11 Weather: Local records fall

Local records were broken or tied while we were under the Excessive Heat Warning

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro and Blythe tied records of 118 degrees on Wednesday and Imperial set a new record of 117 as the Excessive Heat Warning left its mark.

Thursday didn't bring any record heat but the conditions continued to be dangerous.

The Excessive Heat Warning was lifted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Expect temperatures to take a dip heading into the weekend and hover around 107 with is our average for this time of year.

Winds will be breezy to gusty bringing bouts of blowing dust and sand.
