Tatis leads Padres to Series win over Rangers as Darvish prepares for return

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY) - On a night when the stars shined at Petco Park, Fernando Tatis Jr. delivered a statement.
The three-time All-Star reached base four times and drove in the go-ahead run to lift the Padres to a 4-1 win over the Texas Rangers.
San Diego took two of three in the series, capping it off with a balanced performance on both sides of the ball.
Tatis doubled home Trenton Brooks in the fourth to break a 1-1 tie, moments after being brushed back by a pitch. MartÃn Maldonado and Jake Cronenworth added insurance with RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings.
Rookie Pitcher David Morgan survived a tense first inning, escaping a bases-loaded jam with help from Cronenworth's glove.
Kyle Hart earned the win in relief, and closer Robert Suarez secured his 25th save tied for the Major League lead.
The Padres now turn the page to Monday, when veteran Yu Darvish is scheduled to make his long-awaited return from the injured list in a pivotal National League West matchup with the Diamondbacks.
