CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Tornado looms over North Dakota

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A confirmed tornado was spotted in Bismarck, North Dakota Friday as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of potential flying debris and damage to property.

Footage captured by Mike Stenvold shows the tornado rotating as lightning illuminates the sky.

"Not the most settling thing to see out of your hotel window. Luckily I believe it was North of Bismarck but I hope everyone up there is ok," Stenvold said in post on X.

NWS confirmed a tornado landed seven miles north of Bismarck, moving southeast at speeds of 10 mph, and warned of tennis ball-sized hail and likely damage to mobile homes, roofs, windows, and vehicles.

The tornado threat later diminished with the ongoing storms, NWS said.
