Somerton to celebrate Independence Day early

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Somerton is hosting an early Independence Day celebration.

Somerton's Fourth of July event is going to be on Thursday, July 3 from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Council Street Park.

There will be food, live music and entertainment for the entire family.

There's also a new attraction this year.

"Everything will be total free and our famous and traditional water balloon fight also this time is the first time ever that we are going to have a drone show instead of fireworks," said Stephanie Pereda, Somerton special event coordinator.

Council Street Park is located on Council Street next to the city library.
