Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs says he will not testify in his own defense
(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - After six weeks of testimony from the prosecution, the defense in the Sean "Diddy" Combs sex trafficking and racketeering trial spent just one half-hour reading over evidence and rested its case as well.
Earlier in the day, Combs told the court he would not take the stand in his own defense.
The jury was not present as the judge told Combs he has a right to testify, and Combs replied that he would not testify saying, "We have discussed it thoroughly, that is my decision."
When the judge asked him how he was feeling, Combs responded that he's doing great, and thanked the judge and told him, "You're doing an excellent job."
The prosecution rested its case Tuesday morning after 28 days of testimony, and then, in a surprise move by the defense, they rested their case as well, having made their case mostly through cross examination.
Closing arguments are set for Thursday morning.
