Jeff Bezos’ upcoming wedding in Italy is facing backlash

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A mask of secrecy is swirling around the upcoming wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former news anchor Lauren Sanchez.

The couple will tie the knot this week in Venice, but details about the event, from the actual date to possible venues, haven't been released.

The guest list is expected to have 200 A-list celebrities and business executives, all of whom signed non-disclosure agreements.

Some Venetians are less than pleased and are protesting, saying their city doesn't have enough space for such extravagance.

However, the company in charge of the wedding says it will be respectful to Venice.

Officials have reportedly reserved more than two-dozen water taxis and booked nine yacht ports in the area.
