Mercury set franchise record with 17 threes en route of Sky

CHICAGO (KYMA, KECY) - The Phoenix Mercury put on a shooting clinic Saturday afternoon, draining a franchise-record 17 three-pointers in a 107–86 victory over the Chicago Sky.
Six different Mercury players made multiple shots from deep, tying the WNBA record for most players with two or more threes in a single game.
Sami Whitcomb led the way with five triples and 17 points overall, while Kalani Brown's three-pointer in the closing seconds broke the previous team record of 16.
Phoenix shot a scorching 50% from beyond the arc (17-for-35) and posted a season-high point total in their fifth straight win.
The Mercury also got balanced scoring across the board: Kahleah Copper scored 16, Satou Sabally added 15, and Alyssa Thomas contributed 11 points and eight assists. Brown and Kitija Laksa chipped in 11 apiece off the bench.
Phoenix is now 11–4 and surging, just days after knocking off defending champion New York. They'll return home Friday to host the Liberty in a rematch.
