NBC News poll shows Americans’ views on AI

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A new NBC News Decision Desk poll is shedding light on how Americans feel about artificial intelligence (AI) from its impact on daily life to its role in the classroom and how often people are using it.

When asked how AI will affect life overall, opinions are mixed. Only 7% of Americans say AI will make life much better, while 37% say it will make life somewhat better. But 42% believe it will make life worse 26% say somewhat worse, and 16% say much worse. Another 13% think AI won't have any effect at all.

When it comes to education, Americans are split. A slight majority 53% say schools that integrate AI into the classroom better prepare students for the future. Meanwhile, 47% believe schools that prohibit AI are doing a better job.

Finally, how often are people actually using AI tools? According to the poll, 14% say they use AI very often, 30% say sometimes, another 30% say rarely, and 26% say they never use AI at all.

While AI is becoming a bigger part of our world, Americans are still figuring out how they feel about it and how much they want it in their lives. We'll keep tracking these trends as technology continues to evolve.
