Former AWC quarterback Bryce Perkins named UFL League MVP

DETROIT (KYMA, KECY) - Bryce Perkins has earned the highest individual honor in the United Football League (UFL).

The former Arizona Western College (AWC) quarterback was named the 2025 UFL Most Valuable Player on Friday, following a standout season with the Michigan Panthers.

Perkins also took home Offensive Player of the Year honors, voted on by league executives, coaches, players, and media.

It's a major milestone in a journey that took its stop in Yuma, where Perkins led AWC to the NJCAA national championship game in 2017 before transferring to the University of Virginia and eventually reaching the NFL.

In just seven regular season games with Michigan, Perkins completed 69% of his passes for 1,342 yards and nine touchdowns, while adding five more scores on the ground.

His dynamic play helped lift the Panthers to the UFL Championship game in St. Louis, where they fell Saturday night to the D.C. Defenders, 58-34.

Still, the season marks a turning point for Perkins, who proved he's still a rising talent and a proud product of AWC.
