San Pasqual to host 7-on-7 football tournament with local programs

Teams from both Yuma and Imperial County will participate as players look to sharpen their skills in the offseason

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - San Pasqual football will be hosting a 7-on-7 football tournament Saturday June 13 at Warrior Field.

Warriors head coach Miguel Rivas says the tournament provides teams with a great way to get work in over the offseason.

"We want to get out there and test our passing games, passing concepts, make sure everything's working and get the timing down for the players," Rivas said.

Among the local teams participating with the Warriors will be Yuma, Kofa, Somerton, and Brawley.

Desert Star will also be making the trip from Fort Mohave.

"It's not about who wins and loses, you want to win, but it's more about getting good quality reps and, doing the best you can while you're out there to get better for the regular season," Rivas said.

The event will kickoff at 9:00 a.m. and be open to the public.
