Judge allows gender-affirming care for federal inmates

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A U.S. district judge issued a preliminary injunction in an effort to block the Trump administration from cutting off gender-affirming care for transgender inmates.

The President pulled back from federal support for transgender health care earlier this year.

That's when three inmates who had been receiving hormone therapy filed for a lawsuit.

The judge said the plaintiffs will now get to continue the drugs that they need and his order applies to all federal inmates diagnosed with gender dysphoria who are receiving these medications.
