SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY) - U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents found over 7,000 pounds of illegal drugs in May 2025.

Agents found the following:

  • 6,298 pounds of meth
  • 1,267 pounds of cocaine
  • 256 pounds of fentanyl
  • 33 pounds of heroine

A total of 7,854 pounds of illegal drugs were found with an estimated street value totaling over $17 million.

There were 115 separate incidents, according to CBP.

One major incident was on May 29 at the Calexico East Cargo Facility. A tractor-trailer was found to have over 100 packages of cocaine weighing about 245 pounds.

"Targeting techniques are critical to our success," said San Diego Director of Field Operations Sidney K. Aki. "This seizure demonstrates the power of precision targeting and how intelligence driven enforcement is essential in the fight against organized crime."
