AWC basketball hosts their biggest camp ever

AWC hosts over 145 boys and girls at their annual summer basketball camp.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Over 145 boys and girls packed The House and Castle Dome Gyms for Arizona Western College's Annual Summer Basketball Camp.

"We've been doing this camp every year since I became head coach," AWC head coach Kyle Isaacs said. "This is definitely the biggest turnout we've had."

Kids grade K-12 participated in a series of drills and games aimed at developing players' shooting, dribbling, defense and more.

"It's great to see the kid's smiles and their enjoyment every day," Isaacs said. "It's about getting them out of the house, off the couch, off the Nintendos. It's about being active. I don't think there's any better thing that they could do this summer."

The camp runs through Thursday. Next week, AWC will be holding smaller group trainings for older youth players, which will be more intense.
