Deer in Iowa causes damage to a hair salon

KEOKUK, Iowa (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A deer caused damage throughout a hair salon in Keokuk, Iowa, Tuesday morning, after smashing through a storefront window, cutting itself, and then becoming panicked while trapped inside.

Bodycam video released by the Keokuk Police Department (KPD) shows officers entering Tangles Hair Salon through the broken window and finding a deer inside.

As an officer approaches the deer, it races off to hide in a back room, leaving a trail of blood behind it. In the back room, the deer tries to escape through another closed window before it flops to the floor, panting heavily.

"Just stop, bro. I know you're freaking out. Chill for a second," the officer pleads in the video.

The deer then gets back on its feet and tries to jump through the window several more times before the video comes to an end.

According to KPD, "Officers eventually utilized a catch pole to remove the deer."
