FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Multiple agencies are investigating what led to a fiery boat explosion in Florida on Memorial Day that left several people injured.
Video of the explosion Monday shows the boat bursting into flames moments before the passengers onboard were thrown into the water.
The vessel was anchored at a popular sandbar in Fort Lauderdale that brings in crowds during the holiday weekends.
Ten passengers, including two young boys, ages five and seven, were hospitalized. Their father, who did not want to be identified, spoke to a CBS affiliate in Miami.
"We tried to fuel up the boat and must have been a gas leak and it sparked one off and explosion...My wife and my kids, they'll be okay. There's nothing permanent, but they did get third degree burns," the father shared.
Officials say the eight adults who were hurt are listed in good condition and the two young boys are listed in fair condition.
All of them are expected to be okay.
