Tracking a warm-up moving in later this week

A ridge of high pressure will move in later this week, brining in hotter temperatures by Friday. I am tracking tropical moisture that could also bring some moisture to our area this weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Seasonably warm, dry conditions and a little breezy through the middle of the workweek, with afternoon highs in the upper 90s to lower 100s.

A pattern shift late this week will result in a slight boost in temperatures, with highs peaking around 102-106 across the Desert Southwest on Friday, with Moderate Heat Risk developing for the final days of May.

We may start the month of June with some rain changes and cooler temperatures the following week.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: I am tracking a Tropical Storm down to our south, which is likely to develop to Tropical Storm Alvin within the next few days. This may bring in tropical moisture to the Desert Southwest this weekend.

There's chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms starting Saturday-Sunday. I will bring updates through the week, stay tuned.
