Small plane crashes into San Diego home, multiple found dead

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY/NBC) - A small airplane crashed into a San Diego home Thursday morning, leaving multiple dead.

The plane crashed into a military housing neighborhood, with San Diego police and firefighters looking through the wreckage afterwards.

Other homes and nearby vehicles were damaged as well.

At least two people onboard the plane were reported dead, but firefighters say no one on the ground was taken to the hospital.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria was on scene to survey the area.

"I also want to extend the condolences of the city of San Diego to the passengers aboard the planes, families, as well as those that are impacted here on the ground. We will be continuing to keep you all posted throughout the day as more information becomes available," said Mayor Gloria.
