Driver in New York miraculously avoids plunging into the water after car speeds off a dock

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - An "inexperienced driver" had a miraculous escape after accidentally driving her vehicle over the side of a dock, officials in Suffolk County, New York, said.

Dan Panico, town supervisor of Brookhaven, in Suffolk County, posted footage showing the vehicle lurching forward and breaking through the dock barrier. Incredibly, the vehicle lands on a floating dock below.

News 12 reported that the driver was a 17-year-old. Family members said she was back home after a brief trip to hospital following the incident.
