Trans community research grants canceled
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - The Trump Administration says that nearly half a billion dollars in grants to study the transgender community have now been canceled, according to a White House memo.
It details steps the administration has taken to comply with the January executive order banning the federal government from funding or facilitating gender affirming care for children.
The memo also says that the hundreds of research and educational grants of the Department of Health and Human Services have also been canceled.
215 of these grants were focused on the transgender community, totaling $477 million.
