Small plane safely lands on golf course in California

LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A diverted airplane landed safely on a Los Angeles golf course Friday.

The small plane had come from the Santa Monica Airport.

Just before 1:00 p.m., the aircraft landed on the golf course at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.

Both Los Angeles and Santa Monica Fire Departments responded and found all three people on the plane unharmed.

It was unclear why the plane was diverted from the airport.

The plane was assessed for any damage.
