Alaska residents attend 2025 Arctic Comic Con
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The Arctic Comic Con kicked off over the weekend in Alaska.
The Dena'ina Center in Anchorage played host to characters, artists, actors and more for 2025 Arctic Comic Con, which began on Saturday.
Costumed convention goers attended for a program of events, including meet and greets, performances, and costume contests.
There were also a number of vendors present selling merchandise.
Among the many people present were the "Last Frontier Ghostbusters." They are hobbyists dedicated to creating and cosplaying as characters from the "Ghostbusters" franchise.
"Everybody seems to recognize the Ghostbusters, and it seemed to be a big draw that way...I think the thing that drew me to Ghostbusters was the equipment. You know, when you're little, you don't remember back in the 80s you have this little blue thing with this like foamy thing that wiggled a little bit and nowadays, you know, we could make our own scratch built. We have these hats, lab packs. So like, I think that was the big kicker for me."
Ed Mooney, Last Frontier Ghostbusters
The event lasted until Sunday.
