Yuma softball mercies Cortez on senior day

Yuma softball seniors go out with a win on senior day.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Criminals defeated the Cortez Colts 15-5 by mercy rule on Senior Day at Frank Thomas Field.

Yuma moves to 12-7. Cortez falls to 6-11.

In the top of the second inning, Cortez took a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the inning, the Lady Criminals scored five runs and never gave the lead up. Yuma would back that inning up with another big inning in the third scoring nine, as they ran away with the 15-5 win.

For Yuma, Derryel Medel went 2 for 3 with a home run.

Yuma will wrap up the regular season at Kofa on Monday.
