Race car driver raises money to help California animal shelter affected by wildfires
(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - IndyCar drivers are busy ahead of Race Day. Not only are they preparing for their races, but they're also giving back.
Colton Herta is helping animals impacted by this year's wildfires near his hometown in Southern California.
The Andretti Global Driver is teaming up with the Pasadena Humane Society. Herta's hoping to raise $5,000 to help the shelter in its efforts.
To do that, he's selling dog bandanas with all the proceeds going to the shelter.
"I feel fortunate and privileged to be able to do that in the first place. You know, it's important to me especially because we've come close to situations like that from living out here so i do know people that lost a lot and it's terrible. You know, it's not just a house, it means a lot to people, especially people I know who grew up in houses and lost them so it's a sad thing."

If anyone wants to purchase a bandana, they can visit the Andretti Global Merchandise website HERE.
The fundraiser lasts until the end of the month.
