Trump Administration cuts $1 billion in funding to Harvard University
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - The Wall Street Journal reports that the Trump Administration is now ratcheting up its battle against Harvard University.
The Journal reports that President Donald Trump plans to cut another billion dollars from Harvard after the school refused to accept the president's policy demands.
The money being pulled from would affect federal grants for contracts and health research.
Last Monday, the Trump administration announced that it would be freezing more than $2 billion in multi-year grants to the school.
Harvard received a public letter from the administration outlining their demands; they include giving the federal government oversight on admissions and hiring plus the school would have to eliminate all diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Harvard officials called the demands a non-starter.
