Winds linger into Saturday with warming temperatures for Easter weekend

It will still be breezy through Saturday with a quick warmup throughout Easter weekend and into early next week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - An Air Quality Alert is still in effect through TONIGHT for the majority of Imperial County due to gusty winds creating widespread dust.

I am tracking breezy conditions that will linger through the night with gusts 20-30 MPH. Stronger winds will continue to be in Imperial County and further west.

A weak high pressure will eventually build back over the region on Sunday into early next week resulting in temperatures warming slightly above normal levels plus dry conditions.

Breezy conditions will carry into Saturday with gusts 20-25 MPH, it will be breezy, but not overly gusty.

Easter weekend will still be fantastic with highs in the low to mid 80s with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will warm slightly above average by Monday as we will have highs in the 90s.

Taking a look back at the last 4 years in Yuma on Easter Sunday, our daytime highs were pretty toasty and warmer than normal in 2021-2023. Just last year we had a cooler than normal Easter.

So this year we are going to be trending in the upper 80s, but that is seasonable for this time of year and still going to be fantastic compared to previous years.
