Southern California residents react to 5.2 magnitude earthquake
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - People in Southern California are reacting to Monday morning's 5.2 magnitude earthquake.
The quake prompted school children in San Diego County to get under their desks for cover.
Seismologists say that while the shaking can be scary, this kind of event rarely does serious damage in the quake hardened region.
Some people who felt the quake say is was a bizarre experience.
"Yes, I felt the earthquake it was my first one. I was on my daily walk with my good friend, Ray over here, and literally she was dancing, and I just felt like, what I can only describe as the Earth burping, and she didn't even feel it because she was dancing. I was just like, psyched out. I was just like, oh my gosh, what's going on? Was that an earthquake?"

Monday's earthquake follows a 3.5-magnitude temblor in the same area on Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service said a tsunami is not expected.
