Judge denies motion to throw out Menendez brothers re-sentencing hearing

(KYMA, KECY/NBC) - A judge has denied the request to throw out the Menendez brothers re-sentencing hearing.

Re-sentencing is still scheduled for next week, either for Thursday, April 17 or Friday, April 18.

Lyle and Erik Menendez are serving life in prison sentences without parole for the 1989 murders of their parents. They contend it was in self defense.

The brothers were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents and sentenced to life without parole.
