Two Kofa soccer players commit to college programs

Both Axel Martinez and Valeria Andrade are moving onto the next level, as each credit their respective programs for getting them onto college teams

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Two more Kofa soccer players will be heading to the next level.

Boy's soccer player Axel Martinez and girl's soccer player Valeria Andrade each revealed where they'll be taking their talents to.

Martinez will be playing for Eastern Arizona, competing against Arizona Western in the ACCAC, while Andrade will also be staying in state, heading to Nelson University in Phoenix, which competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Both had high praise for their programs' help in getting them onto college teams.

"So what helped me was to be hard working, always be determined whatever you want and to, whenever you back down, just always get up," Martinez said.

Andrade also credited Kofa soccer for helping her develop key relationships.

"It helped me regain my confidence it helped me build my friendships, know new people and also build a family," Andrade said.
