Emily Pike, San Carlos Apache teen, laid to rest

SAN CARLOS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY/NBC) - A funeral took place Saturday for a young girl in Arizona who was found brutally murdered.

14-year-old Emily Pike went missing late January after leaving her group home in Mesa. Nearly three weeks later, Pike's remains were found in a wooded area outside of Globe, Arizona.

On Friday, Pike was carried home for the last time, surrounded by her loved ones and people from across Arizona, as well as from New York, according to an NBC affiliate in the Phoenix area.

Authorities are still searching for who was responsible for the murder, and her family says they will continue to fight for justice for Pike as well as other missing and murdered Indigenous women.
