Three dead, four injured in head-on crash in Prescott
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Three people are dead and four others are injured after a head-on crash in Prescott Saturday afternoon.
Around 3:00 p.m., Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority crews responded to a two-car crash at Williamson Valley Road near West Levie Lane.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) said one of the drivers and a child died at the scene.
Another child was being taken to the hospital via ambulance, but died before making it there. Three adults and another child were also airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies believe the driver of a Toyota 4-Runner, later identified as Jesse Forman from Chino Valley, crossed over double lines and collided head-on with a Jeep SUV. Forman was driving with his three young children and their mother. A woman in her 60s and her adult son were in the Jeep.
"The Sheriff's office extends the deepest sympathy to the children and the families involved in this horrific crash. I also want to recognize the tireless efforts of the many first responders who immediately rushed to the aid of all involved," Sheriff David Rhodes said.
YCSO and multiple other agencies are investigating. Impairment and speed have not been ruled out as factors.
