CALEXICO, CaliF. (KYMA, KECY) - Border Patrol agents arrested a Calexico man after they say he stole someone's wallet out of their pockets.

Bike patrol agents arrested the man in downtown Calexico after they thought he ran into the United States illegally.

"Agents made contact with the individual and determined that the individual had stolen a wallet and was fleeing the scene...the individual was arrested by border patrol and turned over to Calexico PD," said agent Mitzy Hernandez, U.S Border Patrol El Centro Sector.

Calexico police say the suspect had stole another man's wallet out of his pocket while he was drunk.

Police say the suspect was taken to the hospital after it was determined he had consumed fentanyl.
