San Pasqual School District placed on lockdown after report of weapon on campus
WINTERHAVEN, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - San Pasqual Valley Unified School District went on lockdown this afternoon following reports of a weapon on campus.
When law enforcement arrived, multiple Imperial County Sheriff's Office (ICSO) deputies and Quechan Police officers secured the area and conducted a thorough search.
School officials later clarified that the campus was placed on "hold" while officers investigated the situation. No weapons were found.
In a statement to KYMA, the school district expressed appreciation for the rapid response:
"We are grateful for the swift action and professionalism displayed by local law enforcement during this situation. Once the campus was deemed safe, students were released to their parents or safely transported home."
Authorities have not released further details about what prompted the report.
