Pennsylvania police identifies person calling themselves the “Box Demon”

YORK, Pa. (KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Police in York, Pennsylvania, has identified the person who called themselves the "Box Demon" Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the Northern York County Regional Police Department (NYCRPD) sought help in identifying a person wearing a colorful mask, calling themselves the "Box Demon" and left an empty box outside a person's home in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police released doorbell footage showing the odd incident and said the homeowner didn't recognize the person.

According to local media, the "Box Demon" left the package at around 4:20 a.m. Eastern on the front porch of a house on East 10th Avenue in North York Borough.

According to NYCRPD, they have identified and spoken to the "Box Demon," and says, "There are no public safety concerns."

NYCRPD also says they told the homeowner the "Box Demon's" identity and "does not wish to speak any further regarding this incident."
